ABERGAVENNY ARMS

Frant Road, Frant TN3 9DB

The Abergavenny Arms is an imposing 15th century coaching inn located in Frant, just outside Tunbridge Wells.

Abergavenny Arms Hotel was built during the first reign of Henry VI (1422 – 1461) in the year 1450 and was known then as the ‘Apsis’.   Sometime during the late sixteenth century, the ‘Apsis’ became the ‘Bull’.   In 1923, the ‘Bull’ became the ‘Abergavenny Arms’ in honour of Lord Abergavenny, who owned the property until 1933.  The crest of the Abergavenny family bears the head of a bull which would account for the name of the Inn of over 200 years.

Our menus are created to be sympathetic to the seasonal availability of produce and we source our ingredients locally wherever possible.

Our opening hours are 11am to 10pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm to10pm on Sundays.

We look forward to welcoming members to The Abergavenny Arms.
