LAMPS return with The Great British Bake Off Musical. A stage adaptation of the popular television show, featuring a group of amateur bakers competing in the famous tent.
The musical, with book and lyrics by Jake Brunger and music and lyrics by Pippa Cleary, premiered in Cheltenham in July 2022 and later transferred to the Noël Coward Theatre in London's West End. It follows the contestants' journeys, exploring their backstories, friendships, rivalries, and the challenges they face in the competition. It combines the light heartedness and humour of the TV show with moments of sincerity and emotion.
The musical incorporates elements like "soggy bottoms," showstoppers, technical challenges, and judging, as well as backstage glimpses into the contestants' lives.
